What is needed for Band Class?
On DAY 1 of class you will need to have your instrument, a black - 1.5 or 2 inch - 3 ring binder, 15-20 sheet protectors, and notebook paper. You will be provided a scale sheet and fingering/trill charts. All band members are asked to pay a $30 "fair share" to the main office via your school fees form. This fee assists in up-keep of our school instruments and helps pay for music we play throughout the year. If you are in Marching Band, there is a separate $200 fee that needs to be paid to the "DHS Band Boosters" and given directly to Mr. Brusseau. Do not pay this fee through the school office. All band fees are due by the first day of school.
Other instrumental supplies like swabs, reeds, valve/slide oils can be ordered through Mr. Brusseau or purchased on Amazon or a local music dealer (The Band Attic, CounterPoint Music, Separk Music, Guitar Center, etc.).

What do we wear to our Concerts?
Concert Band & Symphonic Band members have a “Concert Black” requirement for concerts. For Men that is a button-up, long sleeve, dress shirt, a black belt, black shoes, and black slacks. For Ladies, black dress pants and a black blouse and black shoes. New Wind Ensemble members that do not currently have a tuxedo or formal dress will be sized for those items during the first couple weeks of school. The cost of the formal dress for ladies is $60. These will be ordered in September. The base cost for the tuxedo for gentlemen is $140. You must go to Christopher's Formal Wear in the Thruway Shopping Center in Winston-Salem before mid-September to get your tuxedo.
